Terms of Service

Your agreement with SKWRL

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply when you use the SKWRL website at skwrl.app, join the SKWRL waitlist, or use the SKWRL iPhone app and any related services (together, “SKWRL” or the “Service”). By using SKWRL, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use SKWRL.

Eligibility

You must be old enough under the laws of your country to enter into a binding agreement and to use online services. If you are using SKWRL on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.

Waitlist and early access

SKWRL is in pre-launch. The waitlist reserves a spot for early access; it does not guarantee access by any particular date, and we may grant access in any order we choose. While SKWRL is in early access, parts of the Service may change, be limited, or be unavailable, and features described on the website may evolve before or after launch.

Your account

If you create an account, you’re responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure — including any third-party account (such as Apple or Google) you use to sign in — and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@skwrl.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Your content

You keep ownership of the places, lists, notes, and other content you create in SKWRL (“Your Content”). You grant SKWRL a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate, improve, and provide the Service to you and anyone you choose to share it with. This license ends when you delete Your Content, except for backups kept for a reasonable period and content you’ve already shared with others.

You’re responsible for Your Content and for making sure you have the right to share it. Please don’t post anything that infringes someone else’s rights or breaks the law.

Acceptable use

When using SKWRL, please don’t:

  • break the law or use SKWRL to harm others;
  • post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren’t yours, or interfere with the Service;
  • scrape, copy, or resell SKWRL content or data except as the Service expressly allows;
  • upload viruses, malware, or anything intended to disrupt the Service.

Maps, places, and third-party services

SKWRL may show maps, place details, and other information sourced from third-party services. That content is provided by those services and may be subject to their own terms. We make reasonable efforts to keep place information accurate, but we don’t guarantee it’s complete or up to date — please confirm important details (such as hours, addresses, or access) directly with the place before relying on them.

If you sign in to SKWRL with Apple or Google, your use of those sign-in services is also subject to those providers’ terms.

Changes to the Service

We’re actively building SKWRL, and parts of the Service may be added, changed, or discontinued over time. We’ll try to give reasonable notice before making changes that materially affect how you use SKWRL.

Termination

You can stop using SKWRL at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing hello@skwrl.app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other people. If we end your access, the parts of these Terms that should reasonably survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limits of liability) will continue to apply.

Disclaimers

SKWRL is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that SKWRL will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information shown will be accurate or current.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SKWRL and its team won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to SKWRL won’t exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim or (b) US $50.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as SKWRL evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use SKWRL after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
